Building a place to work and play with the entire family.

Solo's

Solo's is a multi-use, social concept for pups and their people, featuring a humans only indoor restaurant and bar, on-leash patio, and off-leash dog park in Chisholm Creek. Solo's is a place for the whole family to play in a safe space designed and built for everyone to have fun.

There is little structure in daily life to help pet owners spend more time with their pets outside the home. Pet owners often feel torn between work and social commitments and spending quality time with their pets. When they want to see their friends, pet owners often must leave their dogs at home. Sometimes they can go to a dog-friendly, on-leash patio, but that can feel too restrictive for their dogs to enjoy for prolonged periods. Sometimes they can go to a dog park, which their pups enjoyed, but left little to hold the humans’ attention. Between work, social lives, and other obligations, they felt guilty about having so little time with the four-legged members of their family.

In late 2018, Solo's owner, Julianne Thomas, came home to find Solo, their family’s five-year-old dog, had passed away unexpectedly while his parents were both at work. Beyond the devastation of losing a loved member of the family, they were heartbroken that Solo’s last day on earth was not spent by their side. They mourned the time lost with him that was spent at work or at social obligations. Inspired by Solo, Julianne made the decision to create a place where they could work, play, and regain some of the time they had lost—a place where free time can be enjoyed with all members of their pack. They named this concept in honor of the happy-go-lucky pup that inspired it all, and Solo's was born.

Our Team

Jeffrey Wright
General Manager

Born in a small town with big city aspirations music was my first love but coming from a family of great cooks I aspired to be as good as the people who introduced me into the kitchen life. I moved to Oklahoma City to pursue a career in Culinary Arts. After graduating culinary school I took my first position as an hourly cook and from then on the fire was lit. I worked in multiple kitchens moving up the ladder honing my craft that took me outside of oklahoma to experience other culinary journeys. Home is where the heart is and my heart was in Oklahoma. Moving forward I wanted to extend my restaurant knowledge and my passion for serving people. Those people were Oklahomans, I moved back to pursue opportunities in the front of house to obtain balance in the industry.

Bar Manager

Our mom is the Bar Manage at Solo’s Park & Pub. We are pawsitively excited that she has decided to work at the best place in town! Mom has years of experience behind the bar and as our mom. Mom earned a degree in Psychology with a background in domestic violence, and is currently in school for crime victim and survivor services. She also spends her free time setting up her own farm in the Oklahoma countryside. We may be biased, but we think Solo’s Park & Pub is lucky to have her!

Julianne Thomas
Owner and Founder

Julianne has been an animal-lover her whole life. While she will always fondly remember the pet tarantula she picked up from the ground at Lake Eufaula when she was five years old, her dogs have always been the pets that hold a special place in her heart.

Julianne has spent sixteen years in the restaurant industry, working her way up from host to manager. Her depth of expertise and breadth of experience in a myriad of positions has enabled her to “know” the industry inside and out.

The long hours Julianne put into her career also meant time away from her pets. Julianne knew she wanted to find a way to create a restaurant concept where dogs and their people could spend time together, where owners did not have to sacrifice time with their dogs while eating out or meeting friends.

When her five-year-old dog, Solo, passed away while she was at work, Julianne knew it was time to build her dream from the ground up. Thus, Solo’s Park & Pub was born. Julianne spent years on concept creation, fundraising, and business development. Julianne overcame many bumps along the road, including a global pandemic, to see this dream become a reality.

She is so excited to welcome you to Oklahoma’s first dog park, bar, and restaurant!
